Kia EV2 Makes Debut at Brussels Motor Show 2026
New Kia EV2 all-electric SUV makes global debut at Brussels Motor Show 2026
Kia has unveiled the all-new EV2 at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, expanding our electric vehicle
range into the B-SUV segment. The EV2
is intended to introduce a wider audience to Kia EVs, particularly those seeking a city-focused vehicle with everyday practicality.
As the most compact
electric SUV
in our lineup, the EV2 has been developed with urban use in mind with compact exterior dimensions designed to suit city environments. The interior, meanwhile, has been configured to prioritise space, flexibility, and ease of use. Its aimed at first-time EV drivers,
new customers and urban households looking for a vehicle capable of meeting daily transport needs.
A confident SUV identity refined for the city
Developed under our “Opposites United” design philosophy, the EV2
combines the visual cues of an SUV
with proportions suited to urban driving. An upright stance, strong shoulder line, and pronounced wheel arches give it a solid road presence. Vertical lighting elements and our Star Map lighting signature contribute to a distinctive front design.
Clean exterior surfaces and robust lower body detailing reflect the EV2’s focus on everyday usability. From the side, a straight silhouette places emphasis on cabin space, while the rear design uses edge-positioned tail lamps and sculpted surfaces to highlight width and stability.
The EV2 will also be offered in GT Line specification, which adds model-specific bumpers, body-coloured exterior elements, and dedicated wheels. The GT Line version is intended to provide a more expressive appearance while retaining the EV2’s compact proportions.
Compact outside, expansive inside
The EV2’s interior has been designed to maximise space within a compact
car footprint. The interior concept is described as a ‘Picnic Box’, meant to create a calm, functional environment for daily journeys.
A panoramic wide display brings together in a single horizontal layout that includes a:
· 12.3-inch driver display
· 5-inch climate control panel
· 12.3-inch infotainment
screen
Fabric-based materials and ambient lighting are used throughout the cabin, while physical controls are positioned to support intuitive operation.
Interior flexibility is another key focus in the EV2. Sliding and reclining rear seats allow legroom to extend up to 958mm, while boot space can reach up to 403 litres with seats moved forward. A frunk
provides additional storage for smaller items.
Electric performance for urban driving
The EV2 will be offered with two battery
options, rated at 42.2 kWh and 61 kWh. It’s anticipated to have a WLTP driving range of up to 196 miles (315km) and 274 miles (440km) for the long-range version, ideal for daily commuting and extended journeys.
Fast charging capability allows a 10-80% charge in around 30 minutes, depending on battery size and specification. The EV2 is also equipped with driver assistance systems,
bidirectional charging,
and EV technologies,
including:
· EV Route Planner
· Plug & Charge functionality
· Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)
Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G)
Launch timing
Production of the standard-range Kia EV2 model is expected to begin in early 2026 with long-range and GT Line variants following throughout the year. UK release dates and pricing, final specifications, and confirmed performance figures will be announced closer to the start of sales.
With the introduction of the EV2, Kia continues to broaden its electric vehicle
offering across multiple segments. The model provides a compact,
city-orientated entry point to our
electric SUV
range, reflecting our ongoing transition to a fully electrified future.
