Kia EV Warranty Policy

Kia India Private Limited hereinafter called “KIN”, warrants that each new Kia vehicle sold shall be free from any defects in material and workmanship, under normal use and maintenance, subject to the following terms and conditions.

Warranty Period

  • This warranty shall exist for a period of 36 months from the date of delivery to the first purchaser irrespective of the mileage.
  • Warranty for Kia vehicle being used for commercial purpose such as Taxi/Tourist operation is 36 months/100,000 kilometers from the date of delivery, whichever is earlier.
  • Warranty is transferable to subsequent owner for the remaining warranty period and is applicable only in India and not transferable to any other country.

What is covered

• Except as provided in "What is not covered", our Authorized Dealers will either repair or replace, any Kia genuine part that is acknowledged by KIN to be defective in material or workmanship within the warranty period stipulated above, at no cost to the owner of the Kia vehicle for parts or labour. Such defective parts which have been replaced will become the property of KIN.

• Exceptions The items specified below are covered for periods different from the basic coverage:

• Capacity coverage of the High Voltage Battery Pack for pure electric vehicles (EV):
Carens Clavis EV (Retailed from 1st Aug'2026) & Syros EV

  • For First Purchaser, The High voltage battery capacity warranty coverage period is Lifetime with unlimited kilometers (which means 15 years from the date of vehicle delivery) for capacity loss below 70% of the original High Voltage Battery capacity.
  • For Second purchaser, The High Voltage Battery capacity Warranty coverage period is 8 years or 160,000 km from the date of vehicle delivery to the first purchaser, whichever comes first, for capacity loss below 70% of the original High Voltage Battery capacity.
  • For Kia vehicle being used for commercial purpose such as Taxi/Tourist operation, the High Voltage Battery capacity warranty coverage period is 8 years or 160.000 km from the date of vehicle delivery, whichever comes first, for capacity loss below 70% of the original High Voltage Battery capacity.

  • For EV6 and EV9:
    The high voltage battery capacity warranty coverage period is 96 months or 160,000 kilometers from the date of delivery to the first purchaser.

• Audio System The original equipment audio and its all-related parts (including Video Systems) are covered for 36 months or 100,000 kilometers from the date of delivery to first purchaser, whichever comes first.

• 12V Battery The 12V battery is covered for a period of 12 months irrespective of the mileage.

What is not covered

  • This warranty shall not apply to:
  • Normal maintenance services, including without limitation, cleaning and polishing, minor adjustments, fluid changes, filters replenishment, fastener retightening, wheel balancing, wheel alignment and tyre rotation, etc.
  • Replacement of parts as a result of normal wear and tear such as brake pads and linings, filters, wiper blades, bulbs, fuses, etc.
  • Damage or failure resulting from:
  • Negligence of proper maintenance as written in the Owner’s Manual
  • Misuse (such as driving over curbs, overloading, racing, etc.), abuse, accident, theft, flooding or fire.
  • Use of improper or insufficient fluids or lubricants
  • Use of parts other than Kia Genuine Parts.
  • Any device and/or accessories not supplied by KIN.
  • Modifications, alterations, tampering or improper repair.
  • Parts used in applications of which they were not designed or not approved by KIN.
  • Slight irregularities not recognized as affecting quality or function of the vehicle or parts, such as slight noise or vibrations, or items considered characteristic of the vehicle.
  • Airborne “fallout”, Industrial fallout, acid rain, hail and windstorms, or other Acts of God.
  • Paint scratches, dents or similar paint or body damage
  • Action of road elements (sand, gravel, dust or road debris) which results in stone chipping of paint or glass.
  • Normal wear, tear or deterioration such as discoloration, fading, deformation, etc.
  • Surface corrosion on any part other than the body sheet metal panels forming the exterior appearance of a Kia Vehicle.
  • Any repair of a Kia Vehicle on which the odometer has been altered or on which the actual mileage cannot be readily determined.
  • Incidental or consequential damages, including without limitation, loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use of vehicle or commercial loss.
  • Tires originally equipped on Kia vehicles are warranted directly by the respective manufacturers and not by KIN.
  • This warranty is the entire warranty given by KIN for Kia vehicles and no dealer or its or his agent or employee is authorized to extend or enlarge this warranty and no dealer or its or his agent or employee is authorized to make any oral warranty on KIN’s behalf.
  • KIN reserves the right to make any change in design or make any improvement on the vehicle at any time without any obligation to make the same change on vehicles previously sold.
  • KIN reserves the right for the final decision in all warranty matters
  • Damage or failure to HV battery by altering components or software not designed or approved by Kia India or customer's failure to keep vehicle software updated by not visiting Kia Authorized dealer for vehicle servicing as per owner’s manual.
  • Any external impact, physical damage, or evidence of tampering to the High Voltage (HV) Battery Pack, including its bottom protection cover, is not covered under warranty. For clarity, during any warranty service, if it is determined by Kia India, at its sole discretion, that the HV Battery case, battery bottom protection cover, or tray has sustained dents, scratches, abrasions, deformation, wear, or any other similar physical damage that may compromise or adversely affect its structural integrity, condition, or performance, such components may require replacement. Any such replacement shall be carried out on a chargeable basis at the vehicle owner’s expense and shall not be covered under the HV Battery Warranty.
  • For Home Charging Equipment, Defects or damage resulting from the use of damaged, non-certified charger; continued use of a faulty charger; exposure of the charger to extreme weather; voltage fluctuation; opening or tampering with charger components; installation of charging infrastructure by an unauthorized electrician/ technician; or failure to follow the charging instructions provided by Kia India are not covered under warranty. Always use Kia India-approved portable or wall-mounted chargers.
  • Force Majeure: Kia India shall not be liable for any delay, interruption, or inability to perform its obligations under this HV Battery Warranty to the extent such delay or failure results from a Force Majeure Event. The operation of this warranty and Kia India’s obligations hereunder shall remain suspended for the duration of such event, and such suspension shall not constitute a breach of warranty obligations.
    For the purposes of this warranty, a Force Majeure Event includes, but is not limited to, natural disasters and extreme weather events (including floods, fires, earthquakes, lightning, storms, pandemics, epidemics, or other widespread health emergencies), acts of war, terrorism, civil unrest, riots, crime, piracy, labor disputes, lockouts, shortages of materials or services, significant fluctuations in the cost or availability of essential goods, import or export restrictions affecting critical raw materials or components, changes in applicable laws or regulations, governmental actions or omissions, and any other event or circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Kia India.

Owner's Responsibilities

  • Proper use, maintenance and care of the vehicle in accordance with the instructions written in Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet. If the vehicle is subjected to severe usage conditions, such as operation in extremely dusty, rough, more repeated short distance driving or heavy city traffic during hot weather, maintenance of vehicle should be done more frequently as mentioned in Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet
  • Retention of maintenance service records. It may be necessary for the customer to show that the required maintenance has been performed, as specified in the Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet.
  • Delivery of the vehicle during regular service business hours to any authorized Kia Dealer to obtain warranty service.
  • In order to maintain the validity of this Basic Warranty, the vehicle must be serviced by Kia Authorized workshop in accordance to the Owner’s Manual and Service Booklet.
