Is my Kia affected by a recall?

Enter your vehicle’s registration number (the letters and numbers on your number plate) using the vehicle checker. Once your vehicle is found, any recalls will be listed after the MOT details.

When is a car recall issued?

A car recall is issued when a manufacturer identifies a fault with a part, system, or feature that may pose a potential safety risk. They are typically precautionary and are designed to proactively address issues before they develop into something more serious. If there is an outstanding recall on your car you don’t need to wait for a notification from us. Contact your nearest Kia dealer as soon as possible.

Why have you received a car recall notification?

We use DVLA records to contact the registered keeper of the vehicle in the event of a recall. If you’ve had a notification from us, it means your car is affected.

Received a car recall notification? Here’s what to do

If you’ve received a car recall notification, our records show your Kia has an outstanding safety recall. If your Kia vehicle is affected by a recall, acting sooner rather than later helps to keep you and others safe on the road.

Most major car recalls are precautionary and easy to resolve, so there’s no need to worry. Some recalls only need a software update which can be completed Over the Air (OTA) through Kia Connect by accepting the update on your infotainment screen. For other car recalls, we’ll help you find your nearest Kia dealer who can inspect the issue and handle any updates, repairs, or part replacements at no cost to you.
