Kia Motors Europe remains committed to upholding sustainability in everything it does, and to maintaining standards of excellence when it comes to safeguarding health-related and environmental concerns. As part of this commitment, we are also dedicated to promoting the responsible manufacturing, handling and use of all our products by supporting the European Commission Regulation called the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals).
What is REACH?
• Article 33 of this EC Regulation states that consumers must be informed about the presence of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) in products, in order to guarantee their safe use. Accordingly, we hereby meet this provision by making all the relevant information available to customers that they require for their specific car.
• If you would like to find out more about REACH please visit the homepage of European Chemical Agency.
Identification of SVHCs
• If applicable, Specific Safe Use Information for Articles Containing SVHCs is added to the relevant “SVHC List” for the specific vehicle/part.
General Safe Use Information for articlesEach Kia Motors Europe vehicle is provided with an owner manual, which includes safe use information for owners/operators of the vehicle. Kia Motors Europe information on repair and servicing of vehicles and genuine parts also includes safe use information for service personnel. Where present in parts of this vehicle, except for any Specific Safe Use Information the SVHCs listed are incorporated in such a way that potential exposure to the customers is minimised, and danger for humans or the environment can be excluded as long as the vehicle and its parts are used as intended, and any repairs, servicing and maintenance are carried out following technical instructions for those activities, and industry standard good practices. An end-of-life vehicle may only be disposed of legally in the European Union at an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF). Vehicle parts should be disposed in accordance with locally applicable laws and local authority guidance.
