Turn the engine off and wait for about five minutes for the oil to return to the engine sump. Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, and reinsert it fully. Pull the dipstick out again and check the level. The level should be within the range mentioned in your owner’s manual.

Open your car’s bonnet, locate the dipstick and wipe it clean. Reinsert it again, remove it and check the oil level. There are two marks on the dipstick to show the optimum level your oil should be at. If your oil level is below the line, you should immediately refill your engine oil. Do not overfill it.
