FAQs

  • For normal driving conditions, we recommend you change engine oil every 15,000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first. Under severe or rough driving conditions, more frequent changes—every 7,500 km or 6 months—may be appropriate. If the engine oil warning light appears on your dashboard, please visit your nearest Authorized Kia Dealer for inspection.
  • 1. Make sure the vehicle is on level ground.

    2. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.

    3. Turn the engine off, remove the oil filler cap and pull the dipstick out.

    4. Wait for 15 minutes for the oil to return to the oil pan.

    5. Wipe the dipstick clean and fully re-insert it.

    6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the level.

    • For petrol engine, check if the oil level is between the F-L line, and if it is below the L line, add enough oil to bring the level to F line.

    • For diesel engine, the level should be in the C range. If the level is in the D range, add enough engine oil to bring up the level range.

  • The engine oil warning light indicates low oil pressure, which is often caused by insufficient engine oil. Safely bring your vehicle to a stop and check the engine oil level. If the oil is low, top it up as needed.

If the warning light remains on after replenishment, please visit an Authorized Kia Dealer for inspection, as driving with the warning light on may result in engine failure.
