How to clean the inside of a car windshield?

“Use microfiber cloths to wipe the inside of the glass in a circular motion, then vertically. Next, use a magic eraser with water, using the same method. Lastly, spray glass cleaner on a microfiber cloth and wipe to finish.”

A clean windshield is vital when it comes to your visibility when driving through rainy weather or rough terrain. Although many remember to clean the outside of the car windshield, cleaning the inside of the windshield is equally vital to maintaining your visibility and preventing an accident from occurring.

To clean the outside of a car windshield, in the OFF (O) position, pull the lever gently toward you to spray washer fluid on the windshield and to run the wipers 1-3 cycles.

Materials Needed:

• Lint-free microfiber cloths

• A magic eraser or glass cleaner

• Water

• Glass cleaner

Step 1.

First, wipe down the inside of the windshield with a dry microfiber cloth as it is less likely to leave remains on the glass. Use a circular motion to wipe the windshield, then wipe vertically. The area where the dashboard and windshield meet might be difficult to reach. To do so, sit with your back facing the rear end of the car, then with your backhand you should be able to reach even the tightest of spots.

Step 2.

Next, use a magic eraser or glass cleaner to degrease the windshield. To do so, place the magic eraser in warm water to activate it, then begin wiping the glass in a circular motion. Once you are finished with the magic eraser, immediately dry the windshield with a new microfiber towel to avoid wet streaks as well as the remaining grease from the magic eraser. Or you can use a cleaning solution and spritz onto a cleaning cloth before wiping the inside of the windshield in the same circular motion.

Step 3.

Once the windshield is dry, use a glass cleaner and spray directly onto a microfiber cloth. Continue to wipe in circular motions then vertically, similar to the steps before. Avoid spraying the glass cleaner directly onto the glass, as the droplets from the cleaner may fall on the dashboard and cause discoloration.
