AMCI Testing Certifies that the 2023 Kia Niro EV Wave has a Real-World, fully charged City/Highway range of 298 miles. Testing was conducted over our San Diego route which emulates the EPA’s test scenario of 55% city/45% highway driving. Testing was conducted over multiple test days, during the same hour and traffic patterns. Driving was conducted at the posted speed limit in the city, and up to 5 MPH over the posted limit on highways.
During all testing, the drive mode was set to ECO, regen was set to i-PEDAL, and the interior temperature was maintained at 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Range testing was continued until an indicated 1% of battery capacity was remaining.

AMCI Testing Certifies that the 2023 Kia Niro EV Wave accelerates from a standing start to 60 MPH in 7.1 seconds.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) range testing for electric vehicles is conducted by driving a fully charged battery continuously over the EPA city cycle until the battery is depleted and the vehicle can drive no further. The distance driven is recorded. This is repeated, again starting with a fully charged battery and driving continuously over the EPA highway cycle and the vehicle can drive no further. The distance driven is recorded. All testing is done in a laboratory on a dynamometer and not on public roads. Due to this, real-word factors are accounted for that are not represented in the laboratory, such as the impact of air conditioning, of cold temperatures, and of high speed and aggressive driving behaviors.
