INTRODUCING SELTOS. THE ART OF SMALL SUV

6 / 04 / 2019

Arriving later this year, Seltos, our first-ever small SUV, will combine leading-edge technology and a striking new design language that, is classic Kia, yet takes things into a bold new direction.

Inspired by Greek mythology, the name Seltos represents the brave spirit of ‘Celtos’, the son of Hercules, whereas the ‘S’ signifies speed and sportiness.

Taking cues from the 2019 Kia SP Signature and 2018 SP2 concepts, the Kia Seltos features robust SUV characteristics that coexist with sophisticated exterior design details, such as its long hood, strong character line on the front bumper, and its sharp lines pressed into the bodywork.

Extending over the tiger nose grille, the LED headlights bring a sense of luxury to the modern and urbane design of the new compact SUV. The lamps feature a three-dimensional light graphic and a highly technical diamond pattern at their trailing edges, which is also echoed in the rear LED lamps.

Its strong shoulder line, matched with a glasshouse which tapers towards the rear of the car, as well as rear bumper with a metallic muffler effect, gives the Kia Seltos an air of understated sportiness.

“We have created a car which stands out. Its robust yet sporty design will be matched by a wide range of features and technologies that no other car in its class will match.”

Byung Chul Juh, Head of Kia Styling at Kia Corporation

Trimmed in high-quality materials throughout, the sweeping shapes and sophisticated technical details of the cabin create a sense of depth and richness to the design. With chic design details, such as metallic highlights in the air vents, sweeping dashboard, the compact’s SUV interior also maintains a focus on technology, creating a youthful and luxurious ambiance.

The dashboard centres on a new 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system providing seamless access to a range of features. The tactile, user-friendly centre console beneath allows certain features – such as ventilation and air conditioning – to be adjusted easily and safely on-the-move, while Kia’s Sound Mood Lighting technology can alter the cabin’s ambient lighting to suit occupants’ preferences – a pleasant touch, especially when driving at night.

The whole new levels of peace of mind
At speeds of 20 km/h or higher, BCW alerts you if a vehicle enters your blind spot, even when you are in the process of changing lanes. LED warnings flash on the door mirror and an audio warning is emitted when you signal to make a lane change.
