EV6 Warning Indicators & Lights

Not sure what the Symbols on your EV6 dashboard means?
Read our guide to find out what each warning light means and what you should do if they light up.

RED

It signifies immediate or imminent danger to persons or very serious damage to equipment.​

AMBER

It signifies that something requires attention soon, since vehicle system malfunction or damage to vehicle may occur.​

GREEN

It signifies that a system is active.​

BLUE

It signifies that a system is active.​

WHITE

  • Seat belt warning light

    If the seat belt is not fastened, a chime sounds for 6 seconds and the seat belt warning light stays on until the seat belt is fastened. Fasten the seat belt.

  • Master warning light

    If more than one malfunction exists (low washer fluid, TPMS, Service Reminder or any other situation that require warning), the master warning light stays ON.

  • turn signal indicator light

    When you operate the turn signal indicator or hazard warning indicator, the turn signal indicator light blinks. For the hazard warning/turn indicator if any of the following occurs, there may be a malfunction with the turn signal system:
    • The indicator light does not blink but illuminates.
    • The indicator light blinks more rapidly.
    • The indicator light does not illuminate at all.

  • Low beam indicator light

    When the headlights are on, the low beam indicator light illuminates.

  • High beam indicator light

    The high beam indicator light illuminates when:
    • The headlights are on and in the high beam position
    • The lighting control lever is pulled into the flash-to-pass position

  • Light ON indicator light

    When the tail lights or headlights are on, the light ON indicator light illuminates.

  • High Beam Assist Indicator

    The HBA (High Beam Assist) switch the headlights to low beam or high beam automatically by detecting oncoming or preceding vehicles.
    When the light switch is in the AUTO position, the HBA indicator light illuminates.

  • LED headlamp warning light

    If LED headlamp warning light flashes or stays on, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Rear Fog Indicator Light

    When the rear fog lights are on, the rear fog indicator illuminates.

  • Electronic Power Steering (EPS) Warning Light

    The EPS (Electronic Power Steering) assists driver’s steering effort.
    If the EPS warning light stays on, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • All Wheel Drive (AWD) Warning Light

    If the all wheel drive warning light stays on, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) Warning Light

    If the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) warning light stays on, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Parking Brake & Brake Fluid Warning Light

    For the parking brake warning light, note the following:
    • If you drive with the parking brake applied, the parking brake warning light flashes and a chime sounds. Release the parking brake.
    • If the brake fluid level is low, the light illuminates. Check the brake fluid reservoir and top it up if necessary. If the light does not turn off, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
    Warning: If the brake fluid level is low, do not drive your vehicle. The brake may not work properly.

  • Airbag warning light

    If the airbag warning light stays on, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light

    "The ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) allows the driver to maintain the control over the vehicle by preventing the vehicle from slipping when the brakes are applied.
    If the ABS warning light stays on, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer."

  • Charging System Warning Light

    The charging system warning light stays on to indicate that:
    • The battery is exhausted
    • The alternator or electrical charging system is malfunctioning
    If the charging system warning light stays on, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Low Tire Pressure Warning Light

    For the low tire pressure warning light, note the following:
    • If the tire pressure is low, the low tire pressure warning light stays on. Check the tire pressure and inflate the tire if necessary.
    • If the tire pressure monitoring system is malfunctioning, the light will not illuminate or flash for 1 minute and stay on. Have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Warning Light

    The electronic parking brake warning light stays on to indicate that:
    • The electronic parking brake is malfunctioning
    • The electronic stability control is malfunctioning
    If the electronic parking brake warning light stays on, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Indicator Light

    The ESC (Electronic Stability Control) assists driver’s steering by preventing skidding on the slippery or curved road.
    • If the ESC indicator light blinks, it is normal.
    • If the ESC indicator stays on, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC) OFF Indicator Light

    "The ESC (Electronic Stability Control) assists driver’s steering by preventing skidding on the slippery or curved road.
    If you press the ESC off indicator light to deactivate the ESC, the light stays ON."

  • Immobilizer Indicator Light

    The immobilizer prevents vehicle theft by allowing the registered keys to start the vehicle.
    If the smart key does not exist in the vehicle or the battery of the smart key is low when the ignition is ON, the immobilizer indicator light blinks. Press the Engine START/STOP button with the smart key.
    If the immobilizer indicator light flashes, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Charging Indicator Light

    "This indicator light shows the charging status of the high voltage battery.
    • If the charging indicator light is Red, the high voltage battery is charging.
    • If the charging indicator light is Green, the high voltage battery is completely charged."

  • AUTO HOLD indicator light

    The AUTO HOLD keeps the vehicle stopped even if your foot is removed from the brake pedal after the vehicle stops.
    • If the AUTO HOLD indicator light illuminates white or green, it is normal.
    • If the AUTO HOLD indicator illuminates yellow, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Power Down Warning Light

    The Power down warning light turns on when the high voltage battery level is below a certain threshold, the voltage is decreasing, the tempearture of the motor or driving battery is too high or too low, there is a failure in the cooling system or a failure that is disrupting normal driving.
    If the power down warning light illuminates, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • High Voltage Battery Level Warning Light

    The high voltage battery level warning light illuminates when the high volatge battery level is low. If it turns ON, charge the battery immediately.

  • Lane Keeping Assist Indicator

    For the lane keeping assist indicator light, note the following:
    • If the lane keeping assist indicator light illuminates green, it is normal.
    • If the lane keeping assist indicator light illuminates white, the sensor does not detect the lane marker or the vehicle speed is less than 40 mph
    • If the lane keeping assist indicator light illuminates yellow, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Ready Indicator Light

    The Ready indicator light informs whether the vehicle is ready to drive or not. If the Ready indicator is off or blinking, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Regenerative Brake Warning Light

    If the regenerative brake warning light illuminates, drive safely and have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
    In this case, operation of the brake pedal may be more difficult than normal and the braking distance can increase.

  • Steering Assist Mode Indicator Light

    For the steering assist mode indicator light, note the following:
    • If the steering assist mode indicator light illuminates green, it is activated.
    • If the steering assist mode indicator light illuminates white, it is deactivated.

  • Road freezing warning light

    The road freezing warning light illuminates after blinking when the outside air temperature is below approximately 4°C. If the road freezing warning light illuminates, it is recommended to drive carefully on roads.

  • Service warning light

    The Service warning light is turned on when there is an error of a sensor related to the electric vehicle control system, an actuator or an electric complressor for air conditioning. If the service warning light illuminates, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

  • Expressway lane change assistant light

    When the Expressway lane change assistant is used, the expressway lane change indicator light illuminates.
