ULTIMATE
FLOW

The dynamics of a bold fastback design

The fastback shape originated during a design trend in the 1930s, which favored streamlined silhouettes: a seamless form flowing from the roof and down the rear pillar, without bending. From the back, this creates a sense of speed and power so it was named 'fastback'. The Stinger is an authentic fastback gran turismo. The roofline sits at a perfect angle so that it is aesthetically pleasing and provides aerodynamic benefits as air flows over the bonnet and roof, and off the back of the car.

LIGHT ART

Creating art with the Stinger's headlamps

The Stinger’s headlamps have been designed to make a lasting first impression. With daytime running lights in the center, the Stinger's headlamps also feature a distinctive, high-glow LED lamp and a modern nine crystal turn signal that combine to create true headlamp art. The finer details of the lamps with thin LEDs and clearly defined light elements give the Stinger a more artistic, even luxurious, appearance.

TIGER NOSE GRILLE

The big cat at the heart of Kia’s identity

The most recognizable element of the Stinger’s design is its tiger nose grille, a hallmark of all modern Kia vehicles. The renowned grille gives the Stinger a striking presence, with its wide, tiger-like appearance hinting at the high performance capabilities of a true gran turismo.

METALLIC
PURITY

Modern bodywork demonstrates Stinger’s purity of purpose

The Stinger’s metal bodywork is designed to create fine details and different surfaces for a distinctive overall appearance. The unique interplay of light on different surfaces expresses the Stinger’s purity of purpose. Reflections emphasize the bodywork’s sharp lines and smooth surfaces, while design motifs from iconic earlier gran turismo cars are applied in a very modern way to maximize the Stinger’s sense of contemporary design.

RED ALERT

High performance symbolized by red brake calipers

Over the years, many sports cars have featured at least some commonality in design. To finish off a design and display a car’s high performance intentions, there is perhaps no symbol more potent than a red brake caliper. The Stinger’s brakes are engineered by Brembo, a name widely appreciated for its commitment to high performance driving. The Stinger’s brakes are the most powerful ever fitted to a Kia, and the red calipers are something to admire as you look back at your car after a fulfilling drive.

DUAL TWIN
PERFORMANCE

Exhaust pipes that scream speed

Four rounded mufflers exit the rear of the Stinger, two on each side, create a balanced design and a sense of stability. Inspired by some of the most powerful cars from the past, this dynamic exhaust layout hints at the Stinger’s outstanding performance. The Stinger’s dual twin exhaust mufflers express the personality of the car and give a subtle nod to the heritage of gran turismos.

SIMPLICITY

Iconic rear lamp design signals in a modern gran turismo

The rear lamps are connected to the corners of the car by a rounded, arch shaped tailgate. Maintaining a sense of contemporary simplicity, the stylish, functional design of the rear lamps enhances the Stinger’s presence on the road, night and day. Laid out on a horizontal plane, the design of the rear lamps maintains the classic appearance of historic European gran turismo sports cars, and creates a taut, highly defined rear image of the Stinger.

NATURAL CURVES

The elegant lines of the Stinger’s C-pillars

Gently falling from the back of the roofline, the Stinger’s elegant C-pillar design brings the natural world to mind. Rolling hills and green grasslands, the rounded silhouette of a fully formed cumulus cloud, even the shape of the horizon that the Stinger driver will see from the wheel. A gran turismo at heart, the Stinger’s C-pillar design is the perfect expression of the car’s true character.

SLEEK SIDE
MIRRORS

Luxurious design and aerodynamic benefits

The aerodynamic, flag style door mirrors are inspired by the pennant flags on a car carrying a dignitary or a head of state. The ultimate status symbols, they hint at an element of luxury and fashionable design. With a distinctive, dynamic look, the Stinger’s side mirrors are aerodynamically engineered to cut through the air and minimize the roar of the wind, contributing to higher performance and greater fuel efficiency.

SPORTY
BONNET

A visual hint at what lies under the hood

The Stinger’s headlamps and bumper are separated from the bonnet by the leading-edge wraparound bodywork inspired by the design of iconic sports cars. Sporty in appearance, it creates a powerful lateral character line that maximizes the aesthetic appeal of the Stinger while drawing visual attention to the powerful engine beneath. The bonnet itself features a pair of air vents that are a clear design statement of the car’s on-road performance capability.
