The Optima offers a suite of Kia Drive Wise technologies designed not only to alert you of potential accidents, but also to help avoid some altogether. Now standard for 2019, Forward Collision Avoidance Assistance-Car (FCA-Car) and Lane Keeping Assist-Line (LKA-Line) help you get around more confidently and make the Optima a great choice for a teen’s first car.
Get extra help with your blind spots with an advanced radar-based detection system that sends out visual or auditory signals to help warn you of objects the system detects that are not in your field of view.
We’ve equipped every 2019 Optima with Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW). So when it comes to locating vehicles in your blind spot, including when you change lanes in a variety of circumstances, you have extra help.
When in reverse, standard Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW) can warn you with both audible and visual signals if it detects oncoming obstacles while backing up.
Enjoy added control and convenience with available Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC w/ S&G). The system is designed to adapt to your driving environment by automatically applying the brakes, or accelerator, to help maintain a predetermined distance from a vehicle it detects in front of you. So smart, it can bring the vehicle to a complete stop and start off again with just a tap of the accelerator in certain situations.
With standard Forward Collision Warning (FCW), your 2019 Optima can detect road hazards ahead in certain situations, even when you don’t. FCW gives audible and visual alerts when it detects a potential hazard in your path. The standard Forward Collision Avoidance Assistance-Car (FCA-Car) may actually apply the brakes to help reduce the effects of a possible impact that the system senses.
Standard Lane Change Assist (LCA) can detect and warn you in certain situations of vehicles approaching from behind while Lane Departure Warning (LDW) helps by monitoring the position of your Optima and can provide an audible alert if it senses you moving out of your lane. As an added measure, Lane Keeping Assist-Line (LKA-L) may intervene by applying corrective steering if it senses you drifting outside your lane.
Available Dynamic Bending Light (DBL) adjusts the direction of lights based on the steering angle, and speed of the vehicle, to better illuminate curved roads. The available High Beam Assist (HBA) goes one step further by automatically dimming the high beams when oncoming vehicles are detected.
Tight spaces are a little bit easier now with this advanced drive-assist technology. Using sonar sensors integrated in Optima’s bumpers, standard Park Distance Warning-Reverse (PDW-R) gives an audible warning when the system detects you nearing other vehicles or objects. And for a comprehensive sense of space, the available Surround View Monitor (SVM) gives you a 360° bird’s eye view of your Optima in relation to surroundings.
