Join Kia and Vice on the Uncapital Route: the electrifying journey that explores Europe’s creative hubs beyond the capitals. The adventure comes to an end as we reach our last stop: Rotterdam.
Our host Jess Oberlin arrives to the city in the EV9 and discovers a thriving gastronomical scene surrounded by some of the world’s most famous modern architecture

Jess meets local mixologist Daryl Lieuw-On at his welcoming bar “Rumah”. Daryl is an award-winning bartender that believes the secret ingredient for his success is talking to the people that go to his bar and make them feel at home.
To him, making drinks is just a small part of the job. He believes that the beauty of Rotterdam is that the community is stronger together, despite their differences.

“What keeps me interested is the creativity that allows us to keep developing. And the people.”

Jess and Daryl move through Rotterdam’s glossy streets and reach their destination: Toko, a Surinamese Market. On their journey to find ingredients for an experimental mocktail, they have a taste of a unique recipe of our own: the Kia EV9.

Recipe for success
After trying some of Rotterdam’s flourishing gastronomy over lunch, Jess and Daryl have a mocktail tasting. They discuss the need to pick up the mobile bar and Jess suggests using the EV9’s towing hook to tow the bar to the event.

An ingredient changes everything.
Once Jess and Daryl arrive at the event location, they set up the mobile bar to make it ready for everyone. However, there is a small ingredient missing for the perfect set-up: lights.
But Jess has the ultimate solution; using the Vehicle to Load (V2L) socket to power the venue lights. Now, they’re ready to create some mocktails for the guests that start arriving.

In order to achieve the maximum charging speed, EV9 must use an 800 volt electric vehicle charger that delivers at least 210kW of electricity. Actual charging speed and charging time may be influenced by the battery temperature and weather conditions.
Range figures are determined according to the standardized EU measurement procedure (WLTP). Individual driving style and other factors, such as speed, outside temperature, topography and the use of electricity-consuming devices/units, have an influence on the real life range and can possibly reduce it.
