Soul EV offers advanced technology and low running costs

With its impressive equipment levels and advanced electric powertrain the Soul EV can help reduce your running costs while making driving easier.

The Soul EV combines style, comfort and advanced technology into a practical, fully electric SUV package. Read on to find out how the Soul EV could be your perfect business partner.

Low Running Costs

Thanks to its advanced electric powertrain, the Soul EV benefits from attractively low running costs for businesses and company car drivers. To start with, for the Soul EV, BIK tax is 0% in 2020/21, 1% in 2021/22 and 2% in 2022/23 – which could help you to save several thousands of pounds over three years compared to a petrol or diesel alternative. The Soul EV is also exempt from VED, and you can deduct the full value of the car through Capital Allowances. Furthermore, there are substantial fuel savings available thanks to Soul EV’s lower cost per mile compared to less-powerful petrol or diesel equivalents.

The Soul EV’s 64kWh electric powertrain is not only cheap to run, it’s practical too. You can drive up to 280 miles on a single charge – and charging from 0-80% takes just 54 minutes at a 100kW rapid charger. The powerful 201bhp electric motor offers brisk, instant acceleration and propels the Soul EV to 60mph in just 7.6 seconds. There’s also a suite of intelligent technologies to help extend driving range, such as the smart regenerative braking system, the ability to focus ventilation on the driver only, and switchable drive modes.

Technology that Makes Life Easier

The Soul EV has a large, high-resolution 10.25-inch touchscreen display, which features Kia’s clever UVO Connect software. UVO connect can show you parking locations and pricing, charging locations and availability, and real-time traffic information thanks to the system’s dedicated internet connection. Better still, the UVO system connects to the UVO smartphone app, which allows you to see charging information, send planned routes to your car’s navigation system and retrieve details about trips you’ve taken – useful for keeping track of business mileage. You can even set the vehicle's temperature so that it’s comfortable as soon as you get in.

You can also connect two mobile devices through Bluetooth® simultaneously, so you can keep your phone connected for important business calls while the passenger uses their phone to control the music. The system also offers Apple CarPlayTM and Android AutoTM. Lastly, there’s an innovative head-up display that projects important information – such as speed and navigation details – onto a glass panel above the instrument cluster.

relaxing, comfortable and well equipped

Relaxing, Comfortable and Well Equipped

Thanks to its electric motor, the Soul EV is remarkably quiet. Wind noise has been reduced thanks to clever aerodynamic details, and new sound deadening materials and anti vibration techniques mean the Soul EV’s cabin is incredibly refined – that’s important when you spend a lot of time on the road and need to hear those business calls clearly.

It’s comfortable too. Black leather upholstery comes as standard and the driver’s seat is power adjustable in eight different ways – if you cover a lot of miles for work, it’s vital that you can choose the perfect seating position. Heated front seats and heated steering wheel make cold mornings more bearable and the 10-speaker harman/kardon® premium sound system with subwoofer means your music sounds great, too. There’s also a wireless phone charger for compatible phones – no one wants to miss an important work call because of a low battery.

Helping to Keep you Safe

More than anything, it’s important to stay safe on the road. The Soul EV comes with an impressive suite of advanced safety features to help reduce the stress of driving and keep you and your passengers protected.

There’s Forward Collision-avoidance Assist (FCA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD) with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW) and High Beam Assist (HBA).

Lane Follow Assist also makes long journeys easier by controlling acceleration, braking and steering depending on the vehicles in front. The system uses camera and radar sensors to maintain a safe distance from the car in front, while monitoring road markings to keep the Soul EV in the centre of the lane.
