With a talented, multi-national field of exciting young players, interest in women's professional golf is growing around the world and Kia is proud to be the Official Automotive Partner of the LPGA. Kia serves as the "Official Tournament Vehicle" at eight LPGA tournaments, and is also the title sponsor of the Kia Performance Awards.
Each 2012 Kia Performance Award winner will receive a new Optima Limited when the awards are presented at the end of the year. The four Kia Performance Awards are:
- Kia Power Drive – Awarded to the player with the longest average driving distance
Kia Drive to the Top – Awarded to the player with the most Top 10 finishes
- Kia Most Compelling Performance – Awarded to the player with the most exceptional performance throughout the year with fans deciding the winner through an online vote
- Kia Community Assist – Which will recognize a player who makes exceptional contributions to charity organizations or her local community
The foundation of Kia's relationship with the LPGA is the Kia Classic tournament, which will return to La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, CA – home of the inaugural 2010 event - March 19-25, 2012. For more info and event tickets, visit www.LPGA.com.
Kia also has a powerful partnership with Michelle Wie, a two-time LPGA winner and one of the most recognizable young athletes in the world. In her role as Kia's official golf ambassador, Wie appears in Kia advertisements, and she drives a Soul in northern California while attending classes at Stanford University.
