HomeLink is an integrated transceiver (a transmitter and receiver) that can be programmed to activate radio frequency (RF) devices such as garage door openers, estate/community gate operators, entry door locks, home/office lighting, security systems, or other RF devices. Q. Can I tow my Sorento behind a motor home or RV?

The Sorento can not be towed with all four wheels down. The only way to tow it behind a motor home or RV would be to tow it with all four wheels off the ground. Ask your local Kia dealer for details.

Q. What if my Kia breaks down?

When you purchase a new Kia, you're covered by the Kia 10 Year / 100,000 Mile Warranty Program that includes a 10-year or 100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, a five-year or 60,000-mile limited basic warranty, and a five-year or 100,000-mile limited anti-perforation warranty. You're also covered by the Kia Roadside Assistance Program. Simply call our toll-free customer service hotline at 1-800-333-4KIA that's staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and get the name and address of the Kia dealer or Alternate Service Location (ASL) nearest you. If you're in need of emergency roadside service, we'll dispatch help immediately. Kia will even reimburse you for approved expenses if you're more than 150 miles from home and your Kia requires warranty-covered emergency overnight repairs. Some restrictions apply, so ask your dealer for details.

Q. Where can I buy an owners or service manual?

Owner and service manuals can be purchased through the parts counter at your local Kia dealership or you may call DDS Publications (8:00am - 8:00pm EST; Monday - Friday) at 1.866.542.6268.

Q. Are Kia vehicles available from car rental companies? I'd like to test drive one when traveling for business or on vacation

Yes, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty, Dollar, National and Alamo are all currently offering Kia's. In fact, whenever making a vehicle reservation be sure to ask for a Kia!

Q. Where are Kias Built?

Kia's sold in the U.S. are built at the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) plant as well as the Hwasung and Sohari plants in South Korea.

Q. What does Kia mean?

The word Kia has origins in the Chinese language with the first syllable, ki, meaning to "arise or come out of." The second part of the word, a, refers to Asia. So when you put it all together, Kia means to "arise or come up out of Asia."

Kia Motors America, based in Irvine, California was incorporated in 1992 to sell vehicles in the United States. February 1994 marked Kia's official entry into the U.S. auto market, selling vehicles at four dealerships in Portland, Oregon.
