Kia Motors' first North American-based manufacturing facility, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) began production of the 2011 Kia Sorento on November 16, 2009 and is scheduled to begin production of the 2012 Optima in the third quarter of 2011. At full capacity, the plant will have the ability to produce 300,000 vehicles annually from U.S. and globally sourced parts.
