Dear John

Thanks for taking the time to comment on your new Sportage.

I’m sorry the fuel consumption of your car hasn’t yet met your expectations.

There are many factors that may lead your new car to have fuel consumption that differs from the officially published figures.

All cars sold in the UK have been certified with the fuel economy ratings according to the European Drive Cycle Tests (EU Directive 80/1268/EEC) and are conducted under controlled laboratory conditions. The reason for this is to allow customers to make meaningful comparisons between different types of cars, engines and transmissions as supplied by car manufacturers. The official EU figures are not a promise of performance and doesn’t constitute a guarantee or claim by Kia - The EU figures are the only fuel economy figures we’re permitted to quote for our cars under law.

It’s also worth remembering that the engine in your car is built with very fine tolerances - it will gradually become more efficient over time and can take several thousand miles before it’s at its most economical.

To help get the best out of your car please take a look at our video about fuel consumption - http://youtu.be/FCeeKzaf4UI , and our ‘Driving Towards a Greener Future’ publication - http://www.kia.co.uk/flip_brochures/greener/

I hope this is helpful but if you have any further questions then please let me know – 0333 202 2990.

Kind regards
Nick

Reasonable spec for price
little things missing in new model compared to old model like nice alloys, tray in compartment by handbrake and glass roof. Other thing that bad is that if you have your window open water drips down as the shape is different. this is a floor in the design. Plus, poor controls as it is only set for apple and android not windows phones.

ALL-NEW SPORTAGE MEDIA REVIEWS

  • Kia Sportage SUV

No longer is the Kia Sportage the cheap-and-cheerful family crossover. Instead, it's evolved into a serious contender in a class filled with talented rivals. These include the ever-popular Nissan Qashqai, the Mazda CX-5, the Ford Kuga and the Hyundai Tucson.

    Kia Sportage Review

Arguably the car that has done the most to change Kia’s brand image, the third-generation Sportage (2010-2016) showed Kia could make attractive, stylish and great value cars all backed up by a seven-year warranty. The new, fourth-generation car takes these key strengths and improves on them in a number of ways, pushing the Sportage towards the top of the small SUV class.

    Kia Sportage keeps crossover crown

After all, it’s been the Korean maker’s best seller for the past three years and accounts for almost a third of its UK sales. But that success has been well deserved.
  • Parkers

    Kia Sportage (2016) review

The Kia Sportage is rapidly becoming a household name. The Korean firm sold a massive 90,000 units of the popular third-generation car since its introduction in 2010, but it’s fair to say it was beginning to feel its age.

Road Test: Kia Sportage review (2016)

But my point is this, if Rooney had more sense than money, he'd swap his flash Range for a Kia — and not just because he liked the name — because it's ridiculously good value.
