Commercial Transcripts: Open on a sunny city street. All is quiet. Suddenly, a Sorento accelerates and comes bounding over a hill in slow motion. We see that behind the wheel is a human-sized sock monkey. Music: the heavy, “how you like me know” We cut inside the Sorento to find the sock monkey driving, Muno sitting in shotgun, a bla bla doll and a teddy bear in the second row, then in the third row seat a vintage robot. They are having the time of their lives. We get a good look at the spacious leather interior as Muno reaches for the iPod and turns up the volume. Quick cut to a golf course, teddy bear is teeing off with a ridiculously gigantic driver. The rest of the crew stand nearby watching next to the Sorento. Cut to exterior shots of Sorento on the open road. The car makes its way towards a bowling alley. Quick cut to robot tossing a bowling ball down a lane. Flash cut to the ball as it collides with the pins, which explode into splinters upon contact. Cut to the Sorento on a mountain road pulling a jet-ski on a trailer. We cut inside and get a good look at the I.P, navigation screen and cabin. Quick cut to sock monkey not only catching air on the jet-ski, but completing an aerial barrel roll. Cut to the Sorento cruising along a wooded mountain road. Hero front and rear shots. Quick cut to the gang après a hard day of skiing in an outdoor hot tub. We see the Sorento parked nearby and snowcapped mountains in the background. Cut to the Sorento on the open road. Quick cut to Muno riding a mechanical bull at a restaurant. Quick cut to sock monkey getting a “tattoo” of an anchor sewn onto his arm. Cut to the gang at night driving onto the Las Vegas strip. The Sorento glistens under the lights. Muno leans out of the sunroof with arms raised in celebration. Cut to several smash cuts of the gang in and around Vegas – opening curtains of a hotel suite to reveal an amazing view of the strip, dancing in a nightclub, rolling down the strip in the Sorento, one of the characters getting married in a Vegas chapel etc. Then… Sfx: beep beep. We suddenly cut out and see a close-up of sock monkey’s still face. We pull wider to reveal he’s sitting, now small and motionless in the back of the Sorento. His eyes are fixed on the steering wheel up front. We can see Muno, teddy bear, robot and the bla bla doll lying around him. We realize we’ve been inside sock monkey’s dream of driving the Sorento the entire time. Sfx: hear voices, excited We see the legs of a kid jump in and sit next to the sock monkey. Quick cut to a woman’s finger pressing the push button start. We cut to a wide shot of the Sorento as it pulls away from a suburban house. Super: utility. Technology. Styling. Announcer: The new Sorento. A departure from the expected.
