- Comfortable seating for 7 comes by way of 2 front seats, 2nd-row captain’s chairs that are spaced apart offering passengers ample room and a 3rd row that can accommodate 3 individuals. To access the 3rd row, the 2nd row Captain's Chairs slide and fold forward. The seatbacks recline for added comfort, or fold over flat when not in use. To increase the rear cargo space, 2nd-row seats can flip-and-fold forward, or they can be completely removed.

- When used with properly fitted seatbelts, this advanced system detects the presence of a front seat passenger, monitors the severity of an impact and controls airbag inflation accordingly potentially reducing the possibility of injury.

- The first line of defense in safety are the seatbelts. Front and rear 3-point seat belts are an integral part of an elaborate vehicle-wide safety system designed to help minimize the effects of an accident.
Front Seat-Belt Pretensioners: LX (Standard), EX (Standard)
- In the event of certain collisions, seatbelt pretensioners are designed to tighten the seatbelts pulling the driver and occupants more snugly into their seats in anticipation of an impact to help to reduce the likelihood of injury.
Height-Adjustable Front Seat-Belt Anchors: LX (Standard), EX (Standard)
- Height-adjustable seat-belt anchors let the driver and front passenger personalize the fit of their seat belts helping ensure optimal positioning in the event of a collision.
Front Active Headrests: LX (Standard), EX (Standard)
- To reduce the likelihood of neck, head and spinal injuries during certain rear collisions, the Front Active Headrest system is designed to move the headrests forward during the collision to help reduce the whiplash movement of the head.

- Four-wheel disc brakes with the Antilock Brake System (ABS) offer peace of mind and a level of enhanced safety by providing optimal braking while minimizing skidding under hard braking conditions.
4-Wheel Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS): LX (Standard), EX (Standard)
- The foundation of your Kia's active safety system, the Antilock Braking System (ABS) uses electronic sensors at each wheel hub to detect when wheels begin skid. If skidding under braking is detected, ABS modulates brake force to reduce skidding which in turn allows for reduced braking distances in addition to helping you maintain control of your vehicle.
Electronic Stability Control (ESC): LX (Standard), EX (Standard)
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC) offers an enhanced level of vehicle control and peace of mind by offering improved directional stability helping you maintain the vehicle's intended direction of travel. ESC monitors and assists in the control of key vehicle functions by braking individual wheels and reducing engine power accordingly.
Traction Control System (TCS): LX (Standard), EX (Standard)
- The advanced Traction Control System (TCS) can sense wheel spin during acceleration. Using a combination of engine power and brake force, power is transferred to the wheels that have the most traction offering increased control and traction.
Brake Assist System (BAS): LX (Standard), EX (Standard)
- The Brake Assist System (BAS) adds an additional level of enhanced safety by detecting emergency braking situations and applying additional braking force. BAS instantly assesses a number of variables including brake pedal pressure and speed the brake pedal was depressed and responds with full braking force if necessary.
Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD): LX (Standard), EX (Standard)
- The Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD) system offers a measure of enhanced safety by electronically distributing appropriate amounts of braking pressure to each wheel through a network of sensors. The result is more controlled and precise handling while applying the brakes.

Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS): LX (Standard), EX (Standard)
- Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) offers the convenience and an added measure of preventative safety by constantly monitoring tire inflation pressures in all four tires. A warning light appears in the instrument cluster should any tire pressures drop below a specified range.
