The new Kia models
The Kia family is growing. Here’s your chance to get to know our new models Kia Rio 3door, Refreshed Kia Soul, Kia Picanto 3door, and the new Kia Optima Hybrid.
The new Kia Rio 3door
Also unveiled to the public for the first time at Frankfurt will be the Rio 3door which will reach Kia showrooms in Europe during the first quarter of 2012. Kia anticipates that like its smaller sibling the 3door Picanto, the new 3door Rio will broaden the larger model’s appeal, driving ‘conquest’ sales amongst younger consumers by attracting them to the Kia brand for the first time.
Refreshed Kia Soul
The completely refreshed Kia Soul, shown for the first time to a European audience at the Frankfurt motorshow, will offer new power trains, a higher specification and even more potential for personalisation. In addition to styling updates to both exterior and interior, this latest Soul will offer consumers a higher technical specification, thanks to a new 140 ps 1.6-litre GDI petrol engine and a choice of two new six-speed transmissions – manual and automatic.
The new Kia Picanto 3door
Also making an impact at Frankfurt, the all-new Kia Picanto 3door features sporty styling that will enhance its appeal to younger drivers and attract new consumers to Kia showrooms for the first time. The design of this new Picanto model – with its unique treatment to C-pillar, bumpers and grille – gives a sense of stability and strength. The entire new Picanto range also offers numerous premium features and multiple trim choices not usually available in small cars.
The new Kia Optima Hybrid
Featuring an innovative 2-litre petrol / electric hybrid power train, the new Kia Optima Hybrid will go on sale in Europe from mid-2012. Able to drive in zero-emission, full electric mode up to 100 km/h (62 mph), the 190 ps Optima Hybrid will deliver a unique blend of performance and highly competitive fuel economy of 5.4 l/100 km (52.3 mpg), with tailpipe emissions of just 129 g/km.
