Introducing Kia's first ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. It delivers in all departments - from striking design to enjoyable driving, low running costs and minimal environmental impact. That's thanks above all to its advanced new plug-in hybrid powertrain, which makes this Optima an incredibly compelling proposition for green-minded motorists - with a pure-electric range of 54 kilometres and a 37 g/km CO2 development target.

As well as being a joy to drive, the all-new Kia Optima Plug-in Hybrid is also a joy to behold - from every single angle, both inside and out.
Exterior Design
Instantly recognizable as part of the Optima range thanks to its charismatic and muscular contours, the exterior design features a series of visual enhancements that also give it a unique look of its own and improve aerodynamic efficiency. These include reprofiled front and rear bumpers for enhanced air-flow over the body, special eco blue inserts for the dedicated front grille and side sills, distinctive full LED headlamps and, of course, the integrated charging port.
Interior Design
Exceptional design goes far beneath the surface. So it's no surprise that the interior of the all-new Kia Optima Plug-in Hybrid is just as stunning as its exterior. Modern, spacious, high-quality - these are just some of the words that'll come to mind while zipping around town in your on-the-go life.

The all-new Optima Plug-in Hybrid is smartly powered by both a petrol engine and an electric motor, which can be charged by plugging it into a household socket, or at a public charging station. Giving you uncompromised flexibility as you drive.
In pure-electric mode, the all-new Optima Plug-in Hybrid can be driven up to 54 km on electric power alone. Reaching your destination will never be a worry thanks to the combustion engine, which allows you to drive the Plug-in Hybrid like a regular vehicle. The innovative powertrain employs Kia's efficient 2.0-litre GDI petrol engine at its core, which delivers 156 ps. This engine is coupled with the electric motor, enabling the car to operate in charge-sustaining mode once the battery runs out.
The plug-in hybrid technology also delivers consistently in terms of performance, offering a seamless transition between EV (electric) and HEV (hybrid) driving modes. It is performant, fuel-efficient, low on emissions - and just as easy to drive and maintain as a regular car.
With its advanced technology, impressive performance - and a generous 7-year warranty on the battery and the car - the Optima Plug-in Hybrid is a winning choice.

Plus you can stay fully informed without touching a button: thanks to the voice control of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay(3), you can keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road at all times.

Wireless Phone Charger

Low battery? No charging cable? No problem.
Simply place your compatible mobile device on the tray in the console and let it charge wirelessly as your drive. When you exit the vehicle, the foreign object detection system alerts you if a device was left on the charger(4).

Premium Sound Audio System

Blind Spot Detection and
Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Receive alerts just when you need them on the road - for a safer and more stress-free journey. Blind Spot Detection warns you whenever a car enters the driver's blind spot, whilst Rear Cross Traffic Alert warns you of other cars passing by as you reverse out of parking spaces.

Smart Parking
Assist System

Hands-free, hassle-free: as well as helping you find the right size parking space, Smart Parking Assist even takes over the steering and reverses you effortlessly into both parallel and perpendicular spaces. All you have to do is accelerate and brake.

Lane Keeping
Assist System

Always stay on course and at the right speed - for a safer drive. The Lane Keeping Assist System takes automatic corrective action if you start to veer out of your lane without indication, whilst the Speed Limit Information System reads speed limit signs along the road for you and relays this information to the driver's instrument cluster.

Advanced Smart
Cruise Control

Take your foot off the pedal while the Advanced Smart Cruise Control System takes over. It lets you program your car to maintain a set driving speed and distance from the cars ahead. Using a radar sensor at the front of the car, the systemmaintains the distance by automatically modulating your speed - accelerating or decelerating to keep the Optima at the set speed.

Autonomous Emergency
Braking System

In the true spirit of DRIVE WISE active safety technologies, Kia's Autonomous Emergency Braking detects and reacts to any potential collision with another vehicle or pedestrian faster than the driver(6).
